To install Windows 8 or Windows 8.1, you first need an installation medium. Download the ISO file provided by us and create either a DVD or a bootable USB stick from it.
Prepare installation medium
Once the ISO file has been downloaded, you can burn it to a DVD or transfer it to a USB stick. Then, the installation can be started.
Boot computer from installation medium
Restart your computer and open the BIOS or UEFI. This is usually done via the keys Del, F2, F12, F1, F8, ESC or F10, depending on the manufacturer.
Make sure that your DVD drive or USB stick is set as the first boot device in the boot order.
Important: Please do not change any other BIOS settings.
Install Windows
Once the Windows setup has loaded, select your desired language, time format, and keyboard layout, and click “Next”.
In the next step, enter your product key.
Select installation type
If you want to reinstall Windows, select the option:
“Custom (install Windows only)”
Select hard drive
Select the hard drive or partition where Windows should be installed.
If there is already an operating system on the computer, you can delete the existing partitions.
Warning: This will delete all saved data. Therefore, please create a backup beforehand.
Complete setup
After the installation, set up your user account, assign a password if necessary, and follow the further instructions of the installation wizard.
Once the setup is complete, you can start using Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 immediately.
