McAfee Software - Why are only three languages displayed during registration (e.g., no German)?

Description of the problem

During the registration or installation of the McAfee software, it may happen that only a limited selection of languages is displayed and desired languages such as German are missing.

Background

This behavior is already known and is caused by a display error on the manufacturer's side. Unfortunately, this error cannot currently be fixed directly.

What you can do

The registration or installation can still proceed normally:

  • First, select one of the displayed languages or regions.
  • Complete the installation fully.
  • In many cases, the language will be automatically adjusted based on your region or system settings after completion.

If the wrong language is still displayed

If the language is still not correct after installation, it can be adjusted directly in the McAfee account.

Change language settings in the McAfee account

  1. Log in to your McAfee account.
  2. Open the “Account” section at the top right and select “Manage Account”.
  3. Navigate to “My Profile”.
  4. Click on the currently displayed language at the top right.
  5. Select the desired language.
  6. Then log out of the account and log back in.
  7. Remove the currently installed McAfee version from your device.
  8. Download the software again and reinstall it.

Additional note

The limited language selection during registration usually does not affect the later use of the software. After reinstallation, the selected language should be adopted.
