Introduction
Laplink PCmover Business is a professional tool for transferring applications, files, user accounts, and settings from an old PC to a new one.
This guide explains how to install, activate, and successfully carry out the transfer process with PCmover Business.
System Requirements
Operating System: Windows 11, 10, 8.1, 8, or 7
Processor: Intel or AMD, min. 1 GHz
RAM: 2 GB or more recommended
Disk Space: approx. 250 MB for installation
Network: LAN, WLAN, or Laplink USB/Ethernet cable for data transfer
Installing PCmover Business
Step 1: Download the Installer
Download the setup file from the official Laplink website or through your reseller link.
Step 2: Start Setup
Double-click the downloaded file
Click “Yes” to start the installation.
Step 3: Installation Wizard
The installation wizard will open. Select your language and click “Next”.
Step 4: Accept License Terms
Read the license agreement and accept it by clicking “I agree”.
Step 5: Choose Installation Directory
Keep the default path or choose a different directory.
Then click “Install”.
Step 6: Completion
After installation, a confirmation will appear. Enable the option “Start PCmover now” and click “Finish”.
Activating PCmover Business
Step 1: Start the Program
After the first launch, the activation window will open.
Step 2: Enter License Key
Enter your license code (e.g., XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX) in the corresponding field.
Click “Activate”.
Step 3: Confirm Activation
After successful activation, a confirmation message will appear.
Data Transfer (Migration)
Step 1: Choose Transfer Mode
Select on the start screen:
“Old PC” on the source computer
“New PC” on the target computer
Step 2: Select Connection Method
Select how the computers are connected:
Network (LAN/WLAN)
Laplink USB Cable
Laplink Ethernet Cable
File Storage (e.g., external hard drive)
Step 3: Analyze the Old PC
PCmover scans the old PC for programs, accounts, files, and settings.
Step 4: Adjust Transfer Options
You can select which programs, user accounts, and files to transfer.
Step 5: Start Transfer
Click “Start Transfer”. Progress will be displayed.
Step 6: Completion Message
Upon completion, the message “Transfer completed successfully” will appear.
Restart the new PC to apply all changes.
