The error code 0xc004f050 often occurs when an upgrade or incorrect edition was used during activation. You can usually resolve the issue with the following steps:

Step 1

First, disconnect your computer from the internet.

Then, open the Windows search in the bottom left and type “Activation”.

Step 2

In the opened window, click on “Change Product Key” and ensure that the internet connection remains disconnected.

Then, enter the following generic upgrade key:

This key is for upgrade purposes only (e.g., from Windows Home to Pro) and is not a final product key.

If the upgrade does not start automatically, please restart your PC to complete the transition at system startup.

Step 3

After a successful upgrade, enter your purchased Windows 10 Pro product key to complete the activation.
