Installation and Activation of the HMA Windows App
HMA VPN for Windows is a virtual private network (VPN) that secures your internet connection through an encrypted tunnel. This hides your actual location and prevents third parties from spying on your online activities over public Wi-Fi networks or unsecured connections.
NOTE: This article describes how to install HMA VPN on your Windows device. Information on activating HMA on other devices (macOS, Android, or iOS) can be found in the section "Further Recommendations" of this article. A HMA subscription is valid for up to 5 devices.
Install HMA VPN
1. Click the link below to download the HMA VPN installation file and save it to an easily accessible location on your PC (by default, downloaded files are saved in the "Downloads" folder).
2. Right-click on the downloaded setup file privax_vpn_online_setup and select "Run as Administrator" from the context menu.
3. When prompted by User Account Control for confirmation, click "Yes".
4. To change the default installation language, click on the currently selected language in the top right corner and select your preferred language. Then click "Install".
5. Wait while HMA VPN is installed on your PC. Once the installation is complete, SecureLine VPN will open automatically.
6. In the main window of HMA VPN, open "Settings" (gear icon) ▸ "Account".
7. Choose one of the following options:
View Subscriptions: If you have not purchased a subscription before installation, click "View Subscriptions" to open the HMA Store on our website.
Sign In: If you have already purchased a subscription before installation, you can activate your paid HMA subscription by logging into your HMA account. Enter the credentials of the HMA account that contains your HMA VPN subscription, and then click "Sign In".
Enter Activation Code: If you have already purchased a subscription before installation, you can also activate your paid HMA subscription by entering your activation code. Enter your activation code (including dashes) in the text field or paste it and then click "Activate".
HMA VPN is now installed and activated on your PC.

Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues during installation:
- Ensure that your PC meets the minimum requirements and that your Windows is up to date.
- Windows 11, except Mixed Reality and IoT editions
- Windows 10, except Mobile and IoT editions (32 or 64-bit)
- Windows 8/8.1, except RT and Starter editions (32 or 64-bit)
- Windows 7 SP1 or higher, any edition (32 or 64-bit)
- Fully compatible Windows PC with Intel Pentium 4 / AMD Athlon 64 or higher (must support SSE3 instructions); ARM-based devices are not supported.
- Advanced features, such as Smart VPN and enhanced connection methods, are available for Windows 11 and Windows 10.
- 256 MB RAM or more.
- 300 MB free disk space.
- Internet connection required to download, activate, and use the VPN service.
- Recommended screen resolution: at least 1024 x 768 pixels.
- If you are using third-party antivirus software, try temporarily disabling the protection.
- Restart your PC and then try to install HMA VPN again by following the exact steps in this article.
