Returning from Windows 11 to Windows 10 – Here's How

If you recently upgraded to Windows 11 and want to return to Windows 10, you can use Microsoft's built-in recovery feature.

Step 1: Open Recovery Options

Open Settings and navigate to:

System → Recovery

Then click “Go back” under “Recovery options”.

Step 2: Select Reason for Returning

Windows will now ask for the reason for returning to Windows 10.

Select an appropriate option and then click “Next”.

Step 3: Skip Update Search

Windows will now offer to search for updates.

Click “Search for updates” if you want to try this.

If you want to proceed directly with the downgrade, select “No thanks”.

Step 4: Read Information Carefully

Carefully read the information in the “What you need to know” section.

When you are ready, click “Next”.

Step 5: Have Your Password Ready

Make sure you know the password for your previous Windows 10 account.

This may be required after the recovery.

Then click “Next”.


Step 6: Start Return to Windows 10

Now click “Go back to Windows 10”.

Windows will automatically start the recovery process.

Done

After the restart, your system will boot back into Windows 10.

Congratulations – the return from Windows 11 to Windows 10 has been successfully completed.

Note: This feature is only available for a limited time after upgrading to Windows 11.
